{"id":1389,"date":"2018-07-24T12:29:52","date_gmt":"2018-07-24T10:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pa0rwe.nl\/?page_id=1389"},"modified":"2026-06-03T15:54:03","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T13:54:03","slug":"datv","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pa0rwe.nl\/?page_id=1389","title":{"rendered":"DATV"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>The Minitiouner receiver V2.0<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.batc.org.uk\/MiniTiouner_hardware_Version_2\"><em>https:\/\/wiki.batc.org.uk\/MiniTiouner_hardware_Version_2<\/em><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vivadatv.org\/viewforum.php?f=80\"><em>http:\/\/www.vivadatv.org\/viewforum.php?f=80<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Because I liked the concept, I started building the DATV MiniTiouner receiver with PCB&#8217;s from the British Amateur Television Club (BATC).<br \/>\nThe receiver consists of a (very good) wide band tuner from 140-2400 MHz, including the 2 meters and 13 centimeter band.<\/p>\n<p>The tuner is built together with the other components on a motherboard controlled by USB and the Minitiouner software.<br \/>\nI have added an extra OLED screen on which the settings of the tuner are indicated. This was a hard job, especially the modulator PCB with it&#8217;s very small IC&#8217;s. But it came to a good end and the Portsdown worked perfectly. I made quite a few DATV QSO&#8217;s with it!<br \/>\nUnfortunately, the mode was DVB-S while now more and more hams are going to work with DVB-S2. Maybe I replace in the future the modulator of the Portsdown by a LimeSDR&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1635\" style=\"width: 493px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1635\" class=\"wp-image-1635 \" src=\"https:\/\/pa0rwe.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/case-3-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"483\" height=\"322\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1635\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Portsdown 2019<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8230;&#8230;. and this future came in 2026&#8230;\u00a0 I start building the Portsdown 4 based on the RPi-4 and the Pluto SDR module from Analog Devices.\u00a0 Not the LimeSDR, because that was too expensive &#x2639;&#xfe0f;<\/p>\n<p>After purchasing the necessary hardware, construction could begin. The housing also had to be modified due to the larger display. Once everything had been modified and installed, testing could begin.
